Feeble Beat Machine

Blackheath Halls

My piece Feeble Beat Machine was the winning entry for the Daryl Runswick competition 2011, which is a composition competition open to all composers in TrinityLaban. The recording is from the final concert,  performed by Simon Marsh (Tenor Sax) and the Trinity College Of Music Contemporary Music Group. The piece explores the vast array of timbres offered by this ensemble,  concluding in harsh polyrhythmic energy at the end, influenced by Metal band Meshuggah, whose rhythmically complex, riff based pieces I immersed myself in at the time of writing.
