“Mesmerizing to see and hear… wild and raucous in its structure and performance… It was clear we listeners were in the company of performers who listened deeply to one another”
I Care If You Listen on Flindling with Mayah Kadish (March 2026 at Eternal Series, London)
“We hear what’s a kind of exchange… a sort of interior monologue for both Tim’s voice and Alex’s guitar … a delirious poliquy which pushes them both to places of obsession and mania … as well as strange comedy and heightened expression … (ending with) a strange and uneasy peacefulness. What a ride that set was!”
Tom Service, BBC radio 3 on Flindling with Alex Ward (May 2025 at Cafe Oto, London)
In the winter of 2024/25 I started developing a vocal improvising practice exploring the boundary between noise and meaning. Vocal noise become words become sentences become situations become embodied emotions and back to noise and so on. Flindling is an improvised vocal project exploring the boundary between noise and language. I am currently touring Flindling, performing with a local improvising musician in each location.
